Launch of Telehealth Initiative Moved Up to Assist With Current COVID-19 Crisis
The Massachusetts Medical Society, along with other state and national physician membership associations announced the launch of The Telehealth Initiative on March 19, which helps physicians implement telehealth services.
The current COVID-19 crisis reinforces the need for physician access to practical resources that will enable them to operate telehealth services efficiently. As we discussed in our recent blog, telemedicine has become more mainstream as the improved technology has made implementation more accessible. Note that if you are practicing in a single state, adding telemedicine is reasonably straightforward from a professional liability standpoint, as discussed in our recent notice to clients.
Through the Telehealth Initiative, physicians are able to participate in immersive evidence-based coaching that will help improve patient access, experience and outcomes while maintaining continuity of care when fully implemented.
