In our recent catch-up with Alexandria Hills, Senior Director at Favorite Healthcare Staffing we asked the questions you might want know. We also discovered that along with the tried and true services Favorite offers, there are new offerings that support practice operations.
One of these new offerings is SUMO Medical Staffing. SUMO specializes in placing qualified physicians, and advanced practice professionals including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, CRNA’s, as well as other healthcare professionals in temporary locum tenens positions across the US. They place medical professionals in specialties including psychiatry, internal medicine, hospitalist, family medicine, ER/urgent care, pediatrics, and more.
To find out more about what these services mean to your practice or organization, we interviewed Boyd Waters, COO, SUMO Medical Staffing
How does Sumo Staffing services best support independent practices with their staffing / business / clinical operations?
SUMO Staffing helps healthcare facilities, from large healthcare groups to independent practices by matching them with qualified physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in specialties like psychiatry, anesthesiology, internal medicine, family medicine, OBGYN, surgery, and more. We assist with contracts, credentialing, licensing, and even housing/transportation, which could benefit independent practices in managing their staffing and operational needs.
Does Sumo Staffing offer any services for individual physicians?
Yes, SUMO Staffing provides services for individual physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and CRNAs by helping them identify job opportunities they’re interested in and a good match for. We offer support with contracts, credentialing, licensing, payment, and housing/transportation. We match individual providers with locum tenens positions and permanent positions that suit their skills, goals, and interests. We truly listen to and care about the providers we work with.
What would you say is unique about SUMO staffing?
What stands out with SUMO Staffing is our criteria-based matching system, which ensures a good fit between the provider and the facility, fostering long-term relationships. Additionally, we have been a member of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations (NALTO) since we began in 2007, which shows our commitment to high standards.
Our core values also speak to who we are and what we stand for:
Service Excellence — We commit to delivering unparalleled service excellence to our clients, providers, and business partners, exceeding expectations at every opportunity.
Unity in Diversity — We celebrate diversity and unity, recognizing the strength that comes from embracing different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences with our team and the physicians we serve.
Mission-Driven — We are driven by our mission to match exceptional physicians with rewarding locum tenens opportunities, making a meaningful impact on healthcare communities nationwide.
Optimizing Solutions — We are committed to optimizing solutions through collaborative teamwork, where helping and supporting coworkers to succeed in their roles is paramount. By fostering a culture of “WE” over “I,” we ensure that the face of SUMO remains our top priority in every interaction and endeavor.
How long has Sumo been in business / in Massachusetts?
