WELCOMING GORDON BEWICK TO OUR TEAM

We’re pleased to introduce you to our new Director, Emerging Risk – Large Clients, Gordon Bewick. Gordon is a highly experienced commercial insurance pro who has supported new insurance solutions for mid to large-sized businesses across all 50 states. Gordon originally hails from the U.K. and his many years of working with global insurance markets developing new insurance opportunities and alternative risk programs will allow us to better place Commercial and Property and Casualty policies that cover complex risk in emerging areas across multiple states. We encourage you to reach out with your questions and see what this might mean for your hospital or practice.

GORDON’S BIO:

Gordon joined Physicians Insurance after a storied career in insurance that includes founding Boston Insurance Brokerage (BIB) and 22 years with the Sedgwick Group, a leading Lloyd’s of London brokerage company, and its subsidiaries.

Gordon began his career at Sedgwick Group in the United Kingdom. In March 1984, he was chosen by the Sedgwick Group London to move to New York City to be part of a team to establish Sedgwick Group in the United States. Three years later, he relocated to the Boston office and has enjoyed living in beautiful New England ever since.

In 1999, with Gordon at the helm, BIB acquired the assets of Crump Insurance Services of Boston Inc. and established the newest independent wholesale broker in New England, which Gordon built into a $50 million company. Gordon sold BIB in 2017 and left in 2020; he joined Physicians Insurance in November 2022. In his free time, Gordon plays golf or tennis and sails with his family. Life is an adventure and Gordon is up for any challenge — his mantra is “every day matters!”
