Physicians Insurance Philanthropy Surpasses the One-Million-Dollar Mark

Physicians Insurance (PI) charitable giving reaches all the way back to our inception in the 1990s, and since 2005 alone, our commitment to physician-centric causes has surpassed one million dollars.

As we embark on our second quarter century, our Board of Directors has voted to increase our year-end giving to Physician Health Services (PHS) by an average of 12.5% a year, over the past two years — bringing our annual contribution to $50,000 annually.

“Physicians Insurance has provided generous annual contributions to PHS for more than 15 years,”  said Bara Litman-Pike, Psy.D, executive director, Physician Health Services. “As a core sustaining funder, Physician Insurance furthers PHS’s mission and ensures critical professional support for the health and well-being of Massachusetts physicians and medical students. In partnership with the MMS and other organizations across the Commonwealth, PHS has played a prominent leadership role in addressing the burnout crisis that currently afflicts the profession. We are very grateful to Physicians Insurance for its ongoing support.”

Tom Bryant, president of Physicians Insurance, commented that “the board took this strategic multi-year decision because we understand that the critical work of our ‘sister’ organization alleviates the rising tide of physician distress in these challenging times. This support ultimately helps improve the health, well-being, and effectiveness of physicians and medical students, and this pays dividends in patient safety.”
