In this vishing scam the caller identification may appear to originate from your state. The scammer may inform you that your license has been used in illegal activity and that it is under investigation. He or she may then transfer you to an “investigator” who will provide you with more misleading information, or direct you to a web portal, in an attempt to gather more of your personal information and ultimately collect money.
