September 2013 Bulletin: Women In Medicine

PIAM Women in Medicine Bulletin

Co-sponsored by the MMS Committee on Women In Medicine

September is Women In Medicine Month. Women in Medicine Month is commemorated each September to recognize the outstanding contributions of female physicians. We encourage all physicians to take a moment to celebrate your accomplishments or those of your colleagues..

Important Information for MA Employers: Affordable Care Act Marketplace Notification

As you may know, the new national health care reform law (the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or ACA) requires employers to issue a Marketplace Notification to current employees by October 1st, 2013, and to new hires within 14 days of the employee's start date. The Massachusetts Health Connector (our state's Marketplace) has developed a streamlined model notice that satisfies the requirements of the legislation and is Massachusetts-specific.

For more detailed information from the Massachusetts Health Connector about the requirement and the forms click here. If you would prefer that we fax or email a copy of the actual notice(s), just call or reply to this email. Also, please let us know if you have any questions or if you need additional information.
